Paris-Roubaix on an Ahooga A-MAX: cobbles, grit and zero mechanicals
Jérémy Poiré took on Paris-Roubaix on the Ahooga A-MAX Derailleur: 173 km, 29 cobbled sectors, six hours of riding, and zero mechanicals.
Paris-Roubaix is not just another bike race. It is one of cycling’s most legendary monuments: long, brutal, unpredictable and famous for the cobblestones that make both riders and bikes suffer.
This year, our A-MAX Derailleur took on the challenge with Jérémy Poiré, also known as @jerem_cycle. The result? A proper Ahooga moment.
173 km. Six hours of riding. 28.5 km/h average speed. Zero punctures. Zero mechanicals.
Not bad for a commuter bike.

A brutal day on the cobbles
The day started early, with riders rolling out at 7:00 in the morning. The weather was on our side, but Paris-Roubaix never makes things easy. This edition included 29 cobblestone sectors, each bringing its own mix of vibration, dust, impact and chaos.
Cobblestones are not just uncomfortable. They are technical, demanding and unforgiving. They are slippery without being smooth, rugged without being grippy, and famous for testing every component on the bike.
For Jérémy and the A-MAX Derailleur, this was exactly the point.
Paris-Roubaix was a real-world stress test: long distance, rough terrain, unpredictable surfaces and no room for weakness.

Monumental Jérémy
Jérémy is taking on three major challenges with us this year, and so far, he is delivering at a level that is almost concerning.
Already completed:
120 km at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad
170 km at Paris-Roubaix
Next up:
1,000 km at Race Across Germany, from July 1 to 5
That is a serious calendar. And Paris-Roubaix was another strong proof point: the bike held up, the rider pushed through, and the Ahooga community showed up with full Belgian energy along the way.

The A-MAX Derailleur held its line
The A-MAX Derailleur is built to be ultra-light, ultra-compact and ultra-convenient. But Paris-Roubaix gave it a very different kind of validation.
This was not a clean city commute. It was six hours of punishment across some of the most iconic and difficult roads in cycling.
The outcome speaks clearly:
0 punctures
0 mechanicals
173 km completed
Many new friends made along the way
From the road to the velodrome
After the final sectors, Jérémy reached one of cycling’s most iconic finish locations: Roubaix. And of course, no Paris-Roubaix experience would be complete without the legendary showers.

Bucket list item: checked.
Between Jérémy’s finish and a long-awaited Belgian victory in the professional race, this edition of Paris-Roubaix gave us a weekend to remember.
